Can i alter my laptop to play sims?

ok so stupid me went off and bought sims 3 a while ago, but didnt read the specs right. i have a hp mini 210 and it doesnt have a good enough graphics card to operate the sims 3. is it possable to get an externam graphics card that could fix this? or to alter my pc in some miner way that could fix it?
