Under 18, can u rent?

I'm 16 and sick of my parents, I'm fairly responsible and only thinking about maybe moving out... I have a job. My friend is treated horribly at home and would want to join me in paying rent but are we allowed since we are miners? My guess no... But I haven't really found anything on that when searching google...
